YOU - WOVEN INTO GOD

We do infinitely better as persons and the Church when we worship Jesus as a Person, rather than as a religion. This is because the former is the Christ and the latter is an abstraction. To relate to Jesus in a state of being, rather than to a religion is the difference between the Word in us who is alive and words in us that are ‘the letter that kills’. This is why Christ is our life rather than just the source of our religion. This comes about because Christ is the life and the life of all. He is spirit and life. Real life is realised by us when we realise that it’s less about our receiving Christ and mostly about us agreeing with Jesus that He has received us into His life – the communion of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
BECAME ONE WITH US
“In the incarnation God did not just come into man but actually made our human nature his own in such a way that he came among us precisely as Man, without ceasing to be God.
“So in Jesus Christ the Word of God did not just speak to man through the instrumentality of human speech but actually assumed human speech into himself as the Word of God in such a way as to address us precisely as human word, without ceasing to be the Word of God.”(1)
As Jesus promised, He would be ‘with us and in us’. In Christ you are not just near God or accepted by God. You are woven into God and God is woven into your being. Thus, we are graced to be gracious to ourselves and others, graced to be our true selves and grow as life-giving agents of the Kingdom Jesus began. It’s not rocket science. It’s Christ come in you.
